Cleaning coach can be stressful sometimes, especially when you are in a hurry. You want to get it done as quickly as possible, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes, you need to take your time and do things right. The same goes for cleaning up cat hair. You need to take your time and do things right, or else you’ll end up with a couch that feels like sandpaper after you’re done cleaning it.
But don’t worry. Below are simple ways to remove a cat’s hair from a couch that will work for you. You can even do it without having to spend a lot of money on expensive products or equipment.
Take your Cat to the Vet
If your cat is shedding more than usual, then there’s a good chance that their health is not well. You should take them to the vet as soon as possible so they can get checked out. If they have an illness or parasites, then it could be causing them to shed more than usual, and this may be why you’re noticing all of that hair on your couch in the first place.
Use a vacuum cleaner.
This is the most obvious way to get rid of cat hair from a couch. It’s also the most tedious, but it works well if you have a lot of hair or your dog sheds often. If you don’t have a vacuum cleaner, ask your friends or family if they do. If not, use one from the library or buy yourself a cheap one that will get the job done.
Use a sticky roller.
If you have a couch that’s just not vacuum-friendly (like one with a fabric covering), then this is the way to go. Simply roll the sticky roller over your couch and watch as all the cat hair sticks right onto it! If you don’t have a sticky roller, try using tape instead. Cut off a piece of duct tape that’s about two feet long and wrap it around your hand like you would with the sticky roller above. Then just run your hand over the couch while holding onto one side of the tape so it doesn’t stick to itself.
Use a lint brush.
This is another way to get rid of cat hair from a couch, but it’s not as effective as the sticky roller or vacuum cleaner. Simply use your lint brush and run it all over your couch to remove any loose hairs that might be there. If you have a lint brush with a long handle, this will make the job easier. You can also use a regular one if you really want to get rid of all the pet hair on your couch!
Use a damp cloth.
If you don’t have any of the above tools, then a damp cloth is your next best bet. Simply wipe all over your couch with the cloth and watch as all the pet hair sticks to it. The damp cloth will remove any loose hairs that might be on your couch, but it won’t get rid of all of them. You’ll still have to use either the sticky roller or vacuum cleaner later on if you want to clean your entire sofa.
Use a microfiber cloth.
This is another option for removing cat hair from a couch, but it’s not as effective as the above methods. Simply wipe all over your couch with the cloth and watch as all the pet hair sticks to it!
Use Rubber Glove
If you don’t have any of the above cleaning supplies, then you can use rubber gloves to remove cat hair from your couch. Simply put on a pair of rubber gloves and start wiping all over your couch with them. You’ll be surprised at how much hair comes off!
